I presented Peter to our guests on the first night in Istanbul. It went well, thanks to the Lord’s faithfulness and your prayers! Thank you! Last night I presented Barnabas, the Son of Encouragement. He is a more light-hearted fellow than Peter, and our friends here on board the Star Breeze like the old boy a lot. I’ve found that once you give the audience permission to laugh and enjoy these characters, all of a sudden they (the characters) become more real, more human – more like all of us.
Today we sail into Ephesus. I’m looking out my cabin window now (see the pic above) at the early morning sun rising on the port, and it is a gloriously beautiful day! It’s supposed to be hot here, so we’re applying lots of sunscreen and wearing our hats. I have the day off from presenting. I’ll do Paul tomorrow. The performance is in the morning, and then I have a Paul “Interview” with Chuck Swindoll, and Paul Sailhammer in the evening. That’s the “high-wire” act, where it’s all improvised, “in-character” answers. Yikes. But fun! Then, John, on the Isle of Patmos on Friday for the final performance.
